This is more common than you think and completely normal!

I undertand your frustration. My daughter bit me a couple times too when she was first teething. There are a few things you can do to stop her. You can try all or see which one agrees more with your parenting style.

As soon as she bites:
-Stop the nursing session and wait a few minutes before resuming.
-Gently flick her cheek and say a firm "No". (I did this. It sounds harsher than it really is. She was initially shocked by it, but the result was she equated biting mommy = unpleasant feeling on her cheek. It worked for me. It may or may not for you, as all babies and parents are different)

Minimize chances of biting:
-During her biting phase, make sure to pay extra attention during her feedings. If she's biting toward the end of her feed, it's because she's finished and bored. Respond accordingly and don't leave her on too long! If it's at the beginning or middle of a feed, it's probably her gums that's bothering her. Postpone feeding for a few minutes, give her a cold teether and then resume.

The most important thing is to NOT make a big fuss over it. The next time she bites, as much as it hurts you, calmly unlatch her and say "No bite" or "No biting" or "No No". Whatever gets the message across. The more calm you are, the less she'll think it's a game. Hope that helps!

My girl did the same. The first time I screamed out in shock and she started laughing... ha ha, very funny!!! Common enough problem too. If she's biting it means she isnt serious about nursing as she cant do the two at the same time. So, put her down. If she reacts like my daughter, she will start screaming bloody hell because if there is one rule she has it is SHE decides when she is done and no one else. What a few minutes, pick her up and start again. You might need to repeat this a few times but she should get the message loud and clear.
Now, if you will sympathize with me for just one minute, my girl now has 8 teeth (early teether) and will still have the occasional mishap. Ahhhh!!

Take her off the breast and say no biting then make her wait a little while before you put her back on she will soon realize that biting=no nursing and stop biting you.

she is probably teething. there are a lot of toys you can
get for her to chew on between feedings. i didn't have
any trouble with my children, but remember my mother
saying i did that. each time i did it she gave me a little
swat on the bottom. not hard, you understand, just
enough that each time i clamped down i got a little jolt.
i didn't like the jolt and very quickly caught on to the
connection and quit biting. you understand i am not
saying a spanking just an immediate little jolt.

when babies are teething, the only real way they soothe that pain and get comfort is by chewing....there is no real way to stop her from doing it when she is breastfeeding..you cant just tell her "hey stop that" or even repremand her for it...

to soothe her when she isnt breast feeding, there are alot of "chewy toys" as i call them...as for the breastfeeding, good luck on that one

I unlatch my kid and tell them "no biting"

They might not understand what the phrase "no biting" means but they get the whole "no food kinda sucks" thing.

have you heard of slumberparites.com? they have this stuff called anal ease, and my aunt used it while her baby was teething, and it was so much easier. it basically makes everything numb, so teething won't hurt her.
