I'm going to the Bahamas in December and am going to stay at an all-inclusive resort. Since I didn't need to worry about the water activities, I was wondering if there were any great historic/beautiful places I can visit while there.

Makes sure to visit the Atlantis Resort. The aquarium there is great.

Most inclusive resorts have 'excursions' that they offer and can provide you with a multitude of info. I guess that it depends on your interests.

It really depends on how comfortable you are around dark- skinned people. You could have a delightful experience of the Islands if you are unafraid to venture away from the hotels and resorts.

It is impossible to learn about the land, culture and history of any area, if the only places you go are places where you see only hoards of tourist.

Ask the taxi driver to take you places of interest of the beaten track. It is not an unsafe place and you will never taste real island foods or beverages at the hotel. Besides the food and provisions are cheaper away from the hotel.

Hotels and cruise ships are for the faint of heart and those who do not mind being held captive on a small space in such a vast domain. What is the point in being there or anywhere else, if you do not get to know some real people by name and hold conversations.

The people are so friendly, but the non-tourist parts of Nassau are not that pretty. Stick to visiting the hotels like Atlantis. We stayed there & never left there was so much to do. Have Fun.

The entire island is amazing. If you aren't by the Atlantis Hotel on paradise island, you should go out there and do the water slide drop. Make sure you try the local food. Find a vender at the side of the road if you must. Its the most amazing taste and experience you'll have.
