One of my friends used to like the same guy that I like now. I don't know if she still likes him though but I know that she used to. The problem is that I don't know if she told him bad things about me since we are in a fight right now. I mean I really like this guy and would date him but i am afraid that because I was fighting with my friend that she may have told him bad things about me. What should I do? Thanks in advance for your help?

Honey,

Kids are cruel. Especially girls in grade school, high school, even college.

You should not be afraid to date this guy if you like him.

Think of it this way....if he likes you and you like him...then you should try to be friends. If he finds out that you are really an honest, sweet person, then no matter what anyone tells him, he'll likely defend you because his experience will show him that you are a cool, likeable girl.

If you think that your ex-friend is going to say (or already said) something that is unflattering and true, then if you date him you can always tell him as a friend (after you've been dating a few weeks)..."hey..if you heard about the time that I ....blah blah blah..." then you can explain what happened, how you solved the problem, and then, PUT IT BEHIND YOU.

Dating is a mysterious dance....and yes, you can fall in love when you are 15, 25, and 50. The heart doesn't know how old it is. No matter what happens with this guy, there are many other guys out there and lots more dating to be had.

Good luck!

Ask the guy. What else can you do? You won't know if she told him bad things about you until you ask him... don't let stupid things get in the middle of friendships, though. Trust me,... it's not worth it. I have friends from high school that I wish I had never fought with and miss terribly now!

Be yourself and don't worry about what others say. That DOESN'T change you.
