Im old enough to take the pill. But its the nurse im seeing not the doctor. So she shouldnt tell the doctor will she. As the doctor is funny enough at giving medication which is why i never went to him in the first place.

i would just tell the nurse in case it affects your results but my doctors surgery gave me a pamphlet which said you can get contraceptives from any surgery/family planning clinic and shouldn't feel you need to get it from your own doctor if not comfortable

You certainly should tell the nurse you're on the pill. It won't matter that you get it from the Family Planning clinic - it's still run and funded by the same Primary Care Trust. The whole idea of a Family Planning clinic is so that they can provide expert advice on the right contraception for you, which takes the pressure away from GPs having to do it.

P.S. Just read your additional info - I'm sure the doctor would prefer you to be on the pill than asking him what to do about an unplanned/unwanted pregnancy. You must tell them, it could have an impact on your blood results and could end up with you being wrongly diagnosed.

You should certainly tell the doctor that you are taking cerazette. It's a progesterone only pill - so it can be affected by lots of other medication.

Even if it had no effect on the blood test, your doctor needs to know ALL meds you take - even over the counter ones, and certainly the pill. He/She won't care tuppence where you got it from.

You will be fine & the nurse or the doctor cannot say anything to you bout goin to the family planning clinic. as there is no law stating you must go to your doctor for your contrraceptives. The pill does not affect blood tests.
If they do say anything tell them to mind there own business.
Dont worry love, you be fine

just tell the nurse what you are taking or even take the box with you to show her, all they will do is make a record of what you are taking and it is ok to get the pill from the f p clinic instead of the doctors

Of course you should tell the nurse, they are not worried where you get your pills from, they just need to check your health so tell them all the medication you take.

I would tell the nurse, its is important for them to know because it might effect the results.
They will be fine because you are getting it from Family Planning, this is a credible place to get it from and there is no way the nurse should get arsey with you about it.

You always tell your doctor about ALL your meds.

Your doc might "yell" at you if you've done something stupid, and if you're grown up enough to need The Pill then you're grown up enough to face your doctor!

More likey, the doc will suggest that you can get birth control from their office instead of at the Clinic.

Tell them you are on the pill.

They don't care where it came from. Why have the test if you aren't going to get an accurate response?
