people marry for all the wrong reasons. They marry for material gain , money, clothing, cars, furniture, bank accounts, security, and most of all they marry because their families have put them under alot of pressure to do so.
the rest of us marry for love. We don't care much about money or materialism because we have enough ambition to get what we want and all of our wants without that interfering with relationships with people.

Some people live together for years before they get married now, and sometimes planning a wedding is a way for them to take the focus of their relationship problems.... almost like they think marriage will solve it all. After the weddings over and they see the problems are still there, they realize they made a mistake.

Because they didnt wait long to enough to find out if it was as sure thing. Alot of people are attracted to the outside and ignore inner beauty and they think their in love but really their not. Thats why people get divorced in my people this early they dont know their partner as well as they thought so they end up seeking what they are really looking for.

Because in todays society, commitment is a byword.
And since many people seem to be doing it, there is no condemnation if a spouse is unfaithful.
The younger generation mimic the older generation. If the old people can't get it together then how do we expect the young people to?

because people spend the time leading up to the wedding deciding on what flowers to use in the centerpieces, how much is too much for a reception cite, if the organist will get the timing right on the wedding march, etc....and forget to thing about the actual MARRIAGE. What? you dont want kids? What? you dont want me to work after i have the baby? What? you hate dogs? What? you want me to balance the checkbook? Oops.

Because people don't take the time to learn about their partner before they get married. In too much of a rush.

Commitment is a one letter word no longer valued or emulated. We are the i times, reduced for our lack of ability or willingness to live in discomfort for any reason / until things are worked through.

because people are very spoilt nowdays it's not an easy ride being married fore loads of reasons, you have to get use to eachother ,and that takes time, you have to give and take and it can get very boring at times, so both of you have to really work at it and im afraid people give in to quick. it's a great shame.

Dr. Phil once said that people spend more time and energy planning their wedding, but little or no time planning their marriage.
