She was a Ptolemy, with ancestral rights to rule Egypt. She ran afoul of Rome and died for it. Her children did long long survive her.

None really, she was merely head of a Roman subjugated state. However she had many powerful men including Julius Caesar and Marc Antony to prop her up and they apperently got on rather well, she bore Julius a son.
