Don't bleach every time because it destroys the fibres "eats them" and you'll end up with thinning fabrics (or with bare patches) and also bleach can turn whites more yellow than white when used often.

The bleach can weaken the fibers in the clothes. For example...If you bleached a pair of socks every time you washed them and you washed another pair without bleach every time you wash them, the socks that were bleached would wear down and develop holes first.

The only way bleach will harm clothes is when it is poured on the clothing or not having the washer full of water first, and adding too much bleach will kill clothes too.

I bleach mine every time, let the machine ( with clothes fill with water first),
then add the bleach ( so it is not full strenght sitting on the clothes)
then let them rest for a bit,
then wash.
they seem to be fine.

I've been doing it for years. The break down factor just isn't important to me & it's negligable. I'd rather have super clean & crisp whites, & have to buy socks and undies a little bit more often then not using bleach at all. Whites should be white, bright white!

Using bleach on your clothing every time you launder will definitely make the fibers deteriorate quicker than usual. However, for items that get dingy easily and don't cost much like socks, undershirts, etc. I would have to say go for it.

I usually bleach really dirty things like socks everytime. Somethings may be ruined by too much bleach, but socks wear out anyways

It is the amount of bleach you use that eventually destroys or basically dry rotts the material. From experience one day I lost my panties. The elastic ripped from the material when I pulled them up. So do go easy on the bleach.
