press and hold the * key (the one under the 7 key)

you're usually able to change it once you start or reply a text message. it should be on the right hand side, one of the top buttons. you cant miss it. it'll say [on the same righthnad side] "T9" and you can just press it until you see the letter "a" or "abc" and if you want to change the size of the font [like all caps or all unders] then press your "#". thats pretty basic for most phones. hope that helped. :)

to turn predictive text on just hold down the * key at the compose screen, to turn predicitve text off just hold it down again.

in the message menu is "T9" change it there....
