Apparently get irate if a Brit asks questions about their country, culture and/or heritage?

Is it some kind of defensive mechanism or something?

I like Brits, but asking about my country is not going to make me angry. That is not how you handle a conversation with anybody.

When I was in Britain, a whole bunch of people would get irritated if I asked a question about their country... I've noticed people get more annoyed over there then they do over here in America... must be because we aren't as paranoid.

I'm an American who absolutely has no problem with anybody from another country asks me about my own. Curiousity is what makes us all smarter and more in tune to other people's customs, etc.

A person would have to be pretty lacking if a mere question upsets them. Talk is cheap & harmless unless you let words harm you.

I've never heard of someone getting angry over an honestly asked question. Beats me.

I'd like to know why the BBC funds all of Michael Moore's movies & tv projects?

I'd also like to know about Canadian citizenship. Heck, NOBODY's mad at Canada, eh?

I don't know. I don't get upset, unless it is asked in a condescending way.

i don't think 'we' do..i believe we should expand our questions and maybe by doing so ..it'll expand our knowledge..our brains are meant to take in alot and if its not used or exercised..it collapses....
