also there is a wooded park across the street from me, so does that make a difference in getting rid of them

here's an old remedy for getting rid of spiders and their webs. clean the corner they have occupied with a soft bristle broom. Make a solution of water and salt (approximately 2 cups water and 1 teaspoon salt OR you may add more salt) and put in a spray bottle and lightly mist the nooks and corners which are prone to become home to the spiders. hopefully spiders wont come back. however you must repeat the process every 3-4 weeks.

Pick up the poison, and get some geckos. You have to get rid of the grasshoppers to get rid of the spiders. The spiders are just trying to solve half of your problem for you. Set the geckos free, they are voracious hunters. They also breed prolifically, but they move out when the food is gone.

Get rid of the bugs and the spiders will leave, the spiders are there for the bugs. Use Boric Acid, it' safe for humans and pets.

I have a can of Bug Off a bug-killing spray that was $2 at Wal-Mart. I just give the spiders at my house a little shot of spray on their backs and they run away and die. The only downside is they might run somewhere you can't reach their dead body, and they stay there.

set out a hedge apple, they keep spiders away. Find them at grocery stores and such

you can burn incense the smoke creeps into all the cornes and seems to run the spiders off
