Use fabric softener in the rinse cycle, and dryer sheets in the dryer. Forget trying to take care of the problem with Static Guard. It will work for a little while, then start building up static all over again.

From School for Champions:
"Moisturize skin
Some people have very dry skin that may cause the buildup of static charges, especially in the winter. One thing to try is to use moisturizers or lotions on your skin. The only problem with that, of course, is that you might have to put it all over your body.
You can experiment with different types of moisturizers and in different locations. Perhaps just putting lotion on you hands may be sufficient, since shocks and sparks usually come from touching objects with your hands."
I've found that works for me and my polyester pants. Also, a quick wipe down each pant leg with a slightly wet hand also helps, as it restores moisture to the cloth.
Hope this helps!

Air drying will not help. You have to add liquid fabric softener to the wash and use dryer sheets when drying. My ds is an ump too and those pants they make you wear are gross, but this will work. DS also puts moisterizer on before dressing as the pants don't let the air circulate so he gets dryed out.

Nancy's suggestion of Static Guard is at the top of my list.
Another trick I use when my skirt is being tricky at work is to apply lotion to my skin - back when I used to wear panty hose, I would apply it directly over the hose. It usually works for a few hours.

Go cotton/poly blend.
It's the only way to survive when the temp hits the 90's and you've got the dish for 3 games.

True story. We were so broke during my ninth grade year, that I only had TWO pairs of pants up until the third semester. Bad haircuts? Not so much because my grandmother helped with that.

Try Hair Spray Also it is known that if you add 2Tablespoons of white vinegar to your final rinse in the washing machine, that is suppose to help.
