Say a friend of yours had a problem, so you give them advice. Later on in life you have the exact same problem, do you use the advice you gave to your friend?

It depends. There are lots of factors involved. Your friend may have had different variables. Your advice may have been made for her. You could use part of your advice, but somethings are gonna be different then when they had the problem. Use your own judgement. If you think your advice would work, then use it.

However much the situation your friend was in THEN is similar to the one you're in NOW.....IMHO you still have to look at your own problem seperately.

After all, you're not identical to your friend, so you can't have exactly the same feelings about your problem as SHE did about hers back then.

If there are other people involved in your problem, they're probably other people than the ones that might have been involved in your friends problem.

PLUS, you write : "Later on in life you have the exact same problem"........that to me suggest a couple of years have gone by since you adviced your friend......you're not the "same" person anymore as you were THEN, know what I mean?

Good luck.

I try to... because i was thinking clearly about the situation at the time... in the present time im thinking with emotions driven... its easier to see whats going on when your not in the situation compared to when you were in the situation... go to your friend and ask her how it worked for her when she was in the situation your in now :) See if she can give you some pointers sence she went threw it... she might of not used your advice and she might of figured out something better to do... you never know :)

Not always. Sometimes, though. I usually tell people to "go for it" but I'm more shy when it comes to uncomfortable or scary situations.
