The cheapest and best value for money you will get in within the M25 in West London is the Hounslow/Feltham/Staines/Hanworth area. I used to live in Hanworth and if you find the right road (preferably near the Hampton/Hanworth border) you can't go wrong. With the Heathrow Terminal 5 about to take off, that area is going to boom like no other in the next few years. Go to www.findaproperty.com and move fast before interest rates go up at the end of November!

Try one of the homeless at Kings Cross Station. I am sure one of the unfortunate souls would sell you a cardboard box at a price because that is the only cheap house you will get in London.
