CD burner can only burn CD's. To burn a DVD you need a DVD burner.

You can only burn DVD's with a DVD burner. You can get a burner that does both, but if it only does CD's, you can't do it.

No, not if you don't have a dvd burner also. Your computer would have to be fairly new within the last few years to have a dvd burner on it.

No, its not compatible. DVD burners can burn CDs, but not the other way around...

Only if it is a drive that is made to burn both CD's and DVD's. Most of these are DVD drives that burn CD's too.
