I am a stay at home mom and have been for 6 years. I do not have work history and am not really interested in a career, just something to do until the new year so I can make extra money for the holidays. I want something I can do with my daughter since I wont make enough to put her in daycare. Anyone have some interesting ideas of some sort of service or job that I could do? I will be sure to chose a best answer!

I babysit about 4 times a week during the day gives me time to be with my son and watch a cute little girl that I watch grow up. It doesn't even interfere with picking my daughter up from school.

Well I have two work at home businesses and one is on Ebay, I started off by selling old things around the house that weren't being used. Old movies, cds, christmas gifts that couldn't be returned and were too ugly to have in my home, but someone loved them. Now I sell my quilts I make on ebay. A friend of mine goes to the big expesive stores and buys purses that are clearances for dirt cheap and turns around and sells them on ebay for 10 times what she paid. I hope this helps. If you ever do want a work at home real career let me know and I can tell you about my other business. And just to let you know I never got any money from doing surveys other than $10 here and there and it took a lot of time. Anything that is a company that you want to consider checking into check up with the Better Business Bureau at search.bbb.org

I have an idea for you that I'm trying right now...but it's not a "get rich quick" deal...it does take some time to get into and start making money on...but it is possible!
I was just reading your post and was thinking to myself...I completely understand! I too, am a Mom of an almost 3 year old son and wanting to make some extra money to help with finances because of the job I'm with now...not great pay! :(
I was actually looking at the Dallas Morning News looking for a job over in Dallas, because we're about to relocate back to TX and noticed an ad for AmeriPlan. I called the number on the posting, who is now my sponsor, and she gave me a lot of helpful information about this company. What they do is provide memberships to their Dental, Vision, RX, and Chiropractic networks to provide the end user NICE discounts on these medical services. Its nice if the family's breadwinner is either self employed or doesn't have these types of benefits available to them. OR...and this is the reason I am writing you today is the way to make more money is actually Recruit more Brokers to work with you to sell these memberships as well to build a nice residual income on top of your commissions for selling these memberships. If you would like more information...check out my website:

Check it out sometimes and follow the links if you're interested! Honestly, I am NOT the person that normally does this type of thing..but I am very unhappy at my job and NEED to be able to vent my creative stregnths somewhere in a more positive direction! I just started doing this yesterday and I am looking forward to being very successful!

Here is an idea that worked favorably for my mother-in-law.
With the Thanksgiving and Christmas season approaching she baked tons of stuff sold it and became very self sufficient.
Many catering companies sub contract cakes cookies and things of that nature for office parties and special occasions.
You can develop a very nice catalog with digital pictures of your specialties that show off your work quite well. Many people don't have time for that stuff and with all the festivities happening they will pay someone else to do the baking.
Her specialty was home made bread and she couldn't bake fast enough for the orders. The business went on way beyond Christmas and she does quite well at it.
She later expanded into party platters and gift baskets, still today a very viable business with her.
Relatively low cash flow required with many repeat customers and spend as much time as you can full filling orders. Great Mom and daughter activity as well and your home always smells great and is cozy warm.
Let me know I will put in my order.
Good Luck.

Hey, I'm a singlemom. I know how it is to be without money cause I also went through the shelter system with my daughter. Now I'm a secretary for a lawfirm! That is what patience and will power will do for you. Listen, since you have a six year old you might wanna think about starting up your own daycare. That way you will be staying at home, your child will have friends to play with, and you have six years experience already in that field! Or, if you live in New York, go to Grace Institute. They will teach you computer & secretarial skills for free. They also give job referrals. That school worked for me! That's how I got my job. Good luck to you! Pray, you will get through this

Walk your neighborhood with your daughter on a Saturday with Avon brochures. Or Mary Kay or Pamper Chef. If you like giving parties, and getting attention, I would choose either the last 2. You may spend 3 hours planning, 2 hours delivering, 1 hour cleanup, and with a group of 10-15 women, could have $100 or more in your pocket from just one party. And your daughter could play quietly in the corner. But with these businesses adventures you would have to spend some to make some.
So, you could also volunteer to sell cakes, pies, or cupcakes if you are good at that. Make up an advertisement, buy your supplies based on your order, and charge $7 a pie. (Yummm, cheesecake, apple pie, pumpkin pie) Some are too busy to make their own, but still want homemade desserts. Or soups, or lasagnas, or any food really.
You could also sew for people or something like that you are good at. You could sell anything you don't want at a booth at a flea market. Ask around, somebody might need help cleaning out a garage, or raking leaves. Just let people around you know you are available to work for them. You'll never know what response you'll get.

My sister has some kids that are in school and since she enjoys kids she sits for someone that works 3 days a week. You're son can have some company in that or you can always walk dogs there is big money in that now since allot of people have them and can't get them out of the house when at work. You can take you're son on these dog walks too. They both have flexible schedules you can set up.
I hope these are a couple useful ideas for you.

try adding to your details if you have any special skills or interestes and you may get more help. otherwise if your crafty there are lots of holiday things you could create or if you bake. A gift wrapping service...house cleaning...organizing...evening babysitting so others can shop or do holiday things... hope you find something!!! ( I love to get a seasonal job in retail because you can use your employee discount on gifts!)

Well, you could make money using the internet. There are many things you can do to make money. But...don't fall into scams like survey opportunities when you need to pay money upfront.
Try visit this website to find opportunities by joining affiliate programs. It is also free to sign up.

However, do remember not to sell anything that you're not comfortable in using yourself. You don't want to lose friends or make people suffer.
I've seen a number of internet gurus selling junks that get other people's website banned from Google, using softwares like traffic equalizer that duplicates 1000s of web pages overnight.
Yes...and another thing. Remember not to spam. People spit at spammers. You could already see some jokers doing that on your thread now.
