Interesting story: A guy I know was in Thailand, on business, a month or so ago. A beggar came up to him, and asked for money. My acquaintance gave him a dollar. The beggar gave it back, and asked if he could have a euro, instead.

you could show what a dollar would buy
food
toys
clothes
drug store product
then go to your birthday year and show the same products, use the internet/library to see the prices of items the year you were born

Maybe show all the ways a dollar can be folded into orgami figures!!! That would be fun and interesting!
