Seriously, why do women shower in water that is hotter than the surface of the sun? Everytime I get into the shower after my girlfriend, I run the risk of loosing the outer layer of my body (the exoskeleton?)

There is nothing like taking a hot shower, we as women tend to wear a lot of perfumes, lotions, oils, etc. and we like to know that the water is hot enough to remove all of that stuff. And it is also very, very, very relaxing. It just doesn't seem like I'm clean if the water isn't hot enough. Is she the same way when it comes to taking a bath? I always run more hot water on top of the hot water that is already in the bath tub. My husband calls me crazy because my skin will start to turn red, but it doesn't bother me. It' relaxing.

I have no idea what they did in the 30s, I came along in 1945. My parents and sister and I bathe every night before bed. We did not have a shower so our baths were in the tub. Dad was the last to take a bath, he let us 'girls' go first. Dad shaved with a straight razor and had a shaving brush and a cup with shaving cream in it. I can't imagine people not combing their hair every day. We had indoor plumbing put in the 1950s, we thought we were in heaven when our bathroom was put in at the same time. Poppy

Women are generally shorter than men - so the water from the shower head has further to travel and is cooler by the time it hits them. Therefore women tend to have hotter showers so that the water is at a comfortable (for them) temperature when it hits them.

I like it hot hot hot i guess i am not the only girl that does......my twin boys and my husband hate hot showers too. Must be because as kids girls took more baths than boys and still do and the water has to be pretty hot to stay warm during a bath!....Ask her to cool it down before she gets out!

HAHAHAHAHA!!! that is so funny! I'm the opposite, my ex used to take scalding hot showers and i'd always scream at him when i got in after from the pain..lol

Hot showers are nice. they relax you. i like it to the point of my skin turning red. when my brother or dad get in after me they like it ice cold. Oh and you have an exoskeleton i would love to see that. you mean epidurmus(sp?) :)

i don't know why, but i absolutely love hot showers, but my fiance likes cold showers. wierd.

epidermus, exoskeleton is for bugs. We naturally run colder so the hot water feels good.
