I have brown/yellow/green hazel eyes and purple looks so fabulous with them but i don't really know what to blend it with. What other eyeshadow colors should i pair purple with?
My skin is ivory and i have black hair. I don't know if that helps!

thanks everyone, but anything with yellow in it looks terrible on me. blues, reds, and some cooler greens look good on me. gold washes me out completely, but i guess if i paired it with the purple, it may come out all right.
lastly, black eyeshadow + purple eyeshadow= yuck!!!!!! it just turns grey

I wear purples a lot, and I usually pair them with mauvy pinks, greens and grays. The thing is that you don't want to look like a rainbow. I keep the purple close to the lash line....and use the other accent colors sparingly. Also, pair with black mascara.... other colors with purple can make you look cheap.

Try it with a lighter, kinda lavender purple. Light pinks or light browns or cream colors also work very well. Put the purple on the lid and blend the lighter color higher towards the brow bone. I love purple eyeshadow so much too! Just make sure to not go too heavy. Good luck!

I wear purple eyeshadow, I look exactly like my avatar (if that helps...) I don't try to make it obvious I'm wearing purple, though. It's subtle enough no one really notices.
I use medium or dark purple on my eyelids to the "crease." Cream, light purple, or a light brown in the space just above that, and if I'm going out somewhere special, light purple under my eyes.
But I have auburn hair... I think cream would look great with dark brown/black hair.

I also wear purple eyeshadow. What I do is I use a cream/beige colour as the base and by my eyebrow and then I use the soft purple as shadow and a deeper eggplant purple shadow as liner. If I'm wearing my contacts and the eggplant shadow would bother me, then I would use bronze liner. I wear a soft pinkish/peach blush and then I really play up my lips with whatever I am wearing. Play around with it because as you know one shade of purple can be perfect while another can be horrific.I forgot to add that I also use the eggplant shadow in the very outer corners of my lid to blen with the soft purple shadow. Have fun. You must be a very pretty woman.

Browns, greens, blues, lighter shades of purple, cream is also really pretty as it accents the purple.
Try starting with a tan base up to your brow line, bring the purple up to about midway, and then blend a creamy peach or ivory, from that point up to your brow bone.

Given the color scheme you mention (purple eye shadow, ivory skin, black hair, brown/green eyes), I would recommend something that containes a variety of colors, preferably "warm" colors, that is not day-glow, but warm and vibrant, such as dark blue, mauve, dark to medium green, very dark brick reds (another answerer suggested brown, and I agree), etc. Black can tone down colors that are a little too bright, and tends to help the other colors look "warm", not "icy" and glaring. Also, warm colors (in my uneducated male opinion) tend to whisper look at me rather than shouting it like bright colors do.
That said, make a concession to adventure -- accessorize in an adventurous way, but don't overdo it or your "gear" will outshout you.
good luck. I am sure what you pick will be stunning.

try using a soft gold from the part of the lid that's closest to the nose and apply from there to 3/4 way to the end of the lid.then take the purple, dark I hope and go right above that into the crease of the lid to the last 1/4 of lid where you stopped the gold.then take a light gold and go over the lid closest to the brows......take a little bit of your purple and underline the lower lid, then put your mascara on.

i would say stay with a nuetral because then the focus wil be on your eyes and how much they stand out. the focus will be on the purple but use like golds or beiges as an accent color.it'ss make the color stand out even more and make your eyes pop so they look even more gorgeous than they did before!

Pink/light brown/ layed...looks great with purple. Also adding a sweep of blush on browbone gives a nice blend as well as tying up your over all color (with your cheeks).
