I love my country South Africa but i am not blind to the crime and corruption. How long will it be before we all stand together and say enough is enough. How long will it be before we hold our goverment to task. Will we say in one voice no more rape of our mothers grandmothers daughters sisters sons.No more murders of the same.I LOVE SOUTH AFRICA. My heart bleads for south africa. No I will not leave South Africa

Things were not as bad as far as crime is concered but apartheid was wrong. Apartheid had to go.

Tiisetomo, lets leave apartheid behind us. Yes it was bad for the black people no one has ever denied that. Now is now should we not all pull together and remembering the past but go forward in the fight against crime and poverty. I have lived both era's. This can and should be a great country and blaming all the problems we have today on aparthied is not solving anything.

when people start walking the walk, instead of "philosophing" about a country that isn't there anymore. It hurts me a lot the fact that if I want to have a kid he\she will have very little opportunity and will be hated and will be punished just because of the color of his\her skin The past is past!

I have the same sentiments as you about South Africa but let's just leave the apartheid issue alone. It's getting tired that Apartheid S.A is being compared to Democratic S.A because none of us really know how it was-we were all isolated from one another by pass-laws and due to the group areas act.

I can't really say much about the crime in the Suburbs (during Apartheid) because i never lived there, but to me it seemed that it was less and they always got better service delivery ( compared to the townships where black and coloured people lived). In the very same way someone who lived in the Suburbs then can't come and tell me that the crime was less then because back then we had no rest. You could have been sleeping and suddenly white POLICE MEN would barge into the house and start beating everyone in sight. So let's leave apartheid alone!

South Africa does have some serious problems, but so does the rest of the world. The problem with South Africans are, that we can't stand together, we would rather see somebody fail in live, that what we would help somebody make a success in live. So I plead to all South Africans, lets work together and make South Africa a better place for all.

Viva South Africa

Apartheid was a terrible mistake and had to go no doubt about that, what is sad is that the new leadeship has no direction, not capable of even running a shebeen sucessfully, are running a country for their own benefit, we need people power to over throw this corrupt government and let the people appoint the the new leaders on merit not on popularity, not going to happen for another 10 yrs or so just too many un-educated mother-fu*kers around , hope lies in the next generation. Forget white rule in the future we don't want that either it has to be inclusive and the best person for the post, just hang in it's going to happen.
