His 1st birthday is November 1st I have decided to have it on November 4. There will be different ranges of ages there as well. I have never had a fall birthday party so I'm unsure what to do. Thanks!!

And no this is not my 1st kid!!! It's just for my 1st son's birthday it was early June so I had it outside and didn't have to worry about games or anything. If you don't have anything nice to say please don't say anything at all!!

My twins will be a year old on November 5th. We are not playing any games. One of my nephews who will be five on the 20th will be at my girls party and one other 5 year old. But no games.

First of all, the party is mainly for the parents, family and friends. I think it is highly unlikely a one year old will recall a first birthday party.

Like one of the posters said, just watch your son mess up his cake and play in the boxes. I am baking two cupcakes for my twins and ordering a 1/2 of a cake to feed 24-26 people with a princess theme. My Mom suggested I bake two cupcakes because it will be easier for the twins to mess up...

The big party will be at 5 years old anyway..

I am having the twins party at our home where they are familiar with their surroundings.

Oh,and start sining Happy Birthday to him now so he will not be in total shock or scared at his party...

Hope this has helped some...

My daughter will be 1 Nov.4th as well. We are going to Chuck E Cheese. Shes going to be the youngest at her party ... most the other kids will be older (her brothers friends) Soo Chuck E Cheese is what we've decided. That way the games are already gonna be there. Lol. It just all depends. Your daughter really wont be able to play a game. But maybe get a pinta for the other kids.. one with a pull string so when you think they've had enought chances at hitting it... pull the string for the goods to come out. Of course there pin the tail on the donkey etc.

i would not really worry about games for 1 year olds.not only do they NOT care,it will have you with all the extra work.
if you can, have some parents over with their children, serve some coffee/hot chocolate/milk and cake and ahave a few musical toys laying around for the babies.
if you have older children coming over as well, see if you can maybe have one destignated person watching over them while they are occupied with doing something age appropiate.
the party should not even be that long, because a child in that age will tire easily.
have the time for the part set up after nap time and let it last for no longer than 2 hours.take lots of pictures and enjoy your baby's special day..(if the weather is nice and temperatures allow it,have them outside with a few balls and run around..)

I can remember my son playing with the boxes and gift rapping for his 1st birthday which happened to be on Christmas day. So enjoy it and if there are older children and its cold out put a children's DVD on or video and relax your child will not remember it. Of course they love the cake take lots of pics and have a fun day.

For a first bday party its usually just family and close friends. Its just a gathering where people eat some food and cake, and turn the birthday kid loose on his own cake for quite the amusing mess.

If you make it structured you'll just end up with more work than you need, and you'll miss out on enjoy the time with your son.

Jeez, you're kid won't remember he's to busy trying to decide which side of the playpen smells worse. He's one for crying out loud. Buy him a couple of new toy to chew on and mash up some cake the little tyke. *rolls eyes* This has to be your first kid...
