You know you've made it when you sit back to evaluate your life and you can't think of one thing you would change. If you have the job, spouse, children, car, house, etc. that you have always wanted, or maybe don't have any of them that you didn't want, you have made it, now it's time to start enjoying life.

I believe we are all here for different purposes. But we are all here for a common goal... to learn. It doesn't matter if you are poor, middle class or rich. It doesn't matter if you are CEO of a company or work at McDonald's. It doesn't matter if you wear name brand clothing or wear rags that you found in a dumpster. What matters is who you are as a person. Whether you are kind, thoughtful, respectful, considerate, loving, mature, sensible, non selfish, honorable etc. The list goes on and on. When we are able to accept ourselves for what we are and who we are then we are able to accomplish almost anything and we have inner peace. Remember that desire causes pain. If more people could accept what they have and who they are and run with it ... we would have much more peace and calmness. I think it is wonderful for people to strive for the best and work hard to earn the things they want. But, the problem in today's world (especially America) is that many people think they have to have material things to be worth anything. And many judge those who don't have as much making tension. So the answer I guess I'm trying to give is that making it in life has nothing to do with what others think of you. It has everything to do with how you feel about yourself. Personally I don't feel I've made it yet. I've come a long way but I won't feel settled until my children are raised and doing well on their own. Family should be the key to everyones inner peace. Have a wonderful day... God bless!

When you have slogged all your lifeto reach the top at a very young age, always have the very best of material things, a lovely family consisting of a wife and two kids and also providing them the very best of everything is what I feel as one has made it in life.
I have done the same but now retired at a reasonably of 42 years, when I was diagnosed with cancer. My priorities changed and I gave up all the so called pleasures of life and lead a very happy and content life with my sons getting closer to me and I discovering how much I love my wife all over again. My time is limited but I live kingsize - though this time for and with my family.

You'll never know until you die and then you still won't know cause you will be dead. But the real question is when do you get to look back in your life and see how far you made it and how has it been since then. And see how blessed you are to still be living.

Ask yourself this: What is it that I want at this point in my life? And do I have that right now? If your answer is "yes", then you've made it in life thus far. Congratulations! One must remember that life is not a destination. It is a journey.

when your happy, and completely content with no guilt or sorrow, when you feel sorrow for the homeless instead of turning a nose, when you can do good and not parade around looking for recognition. when you can appreciate the common little things, when you don,t owe anybody(debt free) and your investments have flourished you can retire and not owe one dime on a credit card or mortgage

You have a "mission accomplished!" idea in your head, the same feeling in your heart and then you say it as your last words knowing the lives of the ones you love will go on fine.

When you get to the self-actualization level: few people have made it. Few examples are: Jesus, Buddah, Mother Theresa, Joan of Arc maybe - you get the jist.
