My male guppy is trying to mate with a female platty...is this possible, can they have fry together? BTW, he doesn't pay any attencion to the female guppy. LOL

I'm not sure. I have had a platy and a molly mate before. But I'm not so sure about a guppy and a platy. Just watch and see. I wanna say that most livebearers can mate together. But do try posting on Fish Geeks.com: www.aquaria.info. Hope I helped some.

Watch and keep them properly cos you hardly can find a male guppy going for another species. If they are ever breed, then congratualation, you can sell to pet shop at high price.

All of the live-bearers can mate, but only the platty, and swordtail will produce offspring.
