Three inches is a lot in a short period of time. Also 60% of your arm mass is your triceps not your biceps. To get bigger arms you are going to have to lift heavy, like a weight you can handle 6 to 8 times. Doing more reps than that will only cut your arms up but it wont increase the size at least not rapidly. Most importantly you can't lift your arms everyday. You need to the other muscle groups as well such as legs, chest, shoulders, back etc. The most important thing for growing large muscles is plenty of rest between workouts. So one day you should do arms, the next day you could do chest, another day you can do legs, back another day etc..etc.. You should do a good arm work out only once a week. By doing arms everyday you not give your muscles in your arm time to recover and rebuild the muscle fibers. In fact you my even lose arm mass because you will overtraining them. You also want to eat right. You want to get your protein intake to over a 100 grams or so a day. Using dumbells and pushups is not a lot to work with but, that doesn't mean that you can't get bigger using them. In fact dumbells are probably one of the most versitile piece of equipment in a gym. There are literally hundreds of exercises you can do with them. I recommend getting a good free weight work out book like "Pumping Iron" or something like that. There are hundred of books to choose from. They will be good source of info for designing a good workout routine. Good luck and keep lifting.
