Oh yes, my childhood until late teens was horrendous, If somebody looked at me I went so red and got so upset, I used to hide. I do not know how old you are but I can tell you there was nobody worse than me. Let me know your age and then I will reply again.

Yup, all my life. My mum says that on one of my reports from primary school, it said that I just sit in the corner and never talk to anyone!!
I can find it really difficult to talk to people I don't know (although this has gotton a LOT better since I started uni, I used to red and stammer everytime someone talked to me when I was in school!).
The thought of speaking in front of the entire class (such as a presentation) is still unbearable though!!

yes. i had to do a talk in english in 2nd year or something, it was supposed to be about what we had done over christmas, we had no time to prepare and just had to make it up as we went along. i was dreading it, and when it came to my turn, i got up stood in front of the class and just froze, i had nothing to say, i couldnt get a single word out. it felt like i was standing there for hours, it was just horrible. i am still quiet and hate speaking to large groups or strangers. i just really dont know what to say to people i dont know, i just feel like no one will really give a **** about what i have to say! im ok once i get to know people though

I think maybe "shyness" has a lot o do with our ego. We are much to concerned with what other people think of us. Work on being comfortable with yourself, with what you think of yourself and you will be a lot less shy......... blessings
