I am 15 years old, and I love the disney movies still. My mom says I used to watch The Lion King all the time when I was two. I just recently bought The Little Mermaid special edition, the one that just came out last week, and the picture looks great. They did an excellent job on restoring the picture on that movie. I think I am going to start collecting the brand new fully restored disney classics . Any body else agree?

I am 30 and I still love Disney Movies. I have a collection of about 25 of them. As for the new version of LM, I didn't buy it because I had the edition that came out about 10 years ago. It's a great movie!

All Disney movies are classics and are really great... I'm not surprised you still like them and I think collecting the restored versions is a great idea! The funny thing is, I was just getting the urge to watch a Disney movie, I get like that every once in a while... Maybe I'll watch The Little Mermaid...

Great Movie! The Disney movies are a staple in my house, and not for the kids only. I'm 42, and love Disney movies. The Little Mermaid brings back really fond memories, cause I drove from Mississippi to California with my 4 year old daughter and 5 year old son in 1989, and we sang the songs from that movie all the way across country!
As a matter of fact, last night at work (myself and my business partner run a karaoke business) we sang "Part Of Their World", and got a great response -- and this was in a bar!
I try to get all of the Disney classics as they come out - for me, as well as my kids (22, 21 and 12), and just because!

My wife started collecting the VHS tapes when she was 16 (she is now 32). We have an extensive collection. Collecting these can be viewed as an investment. We had an original Little Mermaid VHS tape stolen. I went to a pawn shop to replace it. A previously viewed rental shop copy was $125.00 back in 1998. I have been told if you find an unopened copy it is worth $3,000 to $5,000.
Also look at it this way (which we are now), when you have children you can share classic stories with them like Bambi and Snow White (we have a 20 month old who loves Disney movies). Nothing against the new movies, but there is something about a classic.

The Little Mermaid is one of my favorite Disney movies and I'm 25. I love the songs, the color, the story and everything about it. Other Disney movies I love are Sleeping Beauty and The Lion King.

well, I'm 25, and I've been collecting the disney DVDs. I'll be getting the little mermaid this weekend. I love disney classics (the ones I used to watch when I was younger) and I plan to pass them on to my kids (when I have them).
