Dr. King Was A Great Man...
And He Did Great Things For The People In This Country.

He Enabled Us To See.

There Is NO DOUBT
That The Black Community Suffered GREAT INJUSTICES
At The Hand Of A CORRUPT American Government,
And WERE TREATED Like SECOND CLASS (Worse),
And During Those Years
When Dr. King Was Still TRYING To Open Our Eyes,
The Black Community Was Being Treated DISGRACEFULLY

Dr. King GAVE HIS LIFE
So That People In This Nation Would ACCEPT OTHERS
And Learn To Look Beyond The COLOR Of A Person
(NOT To Be RACIST)

HIS People Protested PEACEFULLY
Because Dr. King INSISTED On It

And They Were Subject To Even MORE Indignity.

He Was PROUD To Be An American
And HE SET Some Of The STANDARDS
That We TRY To Live By As American Citizens Today

Dr. King Had A Dream.......

MANY Of Us Understand His Dream...
And TRY To Honor That Dream

Unfortunately Some STILL Do NOT

It Is Through His Perseverence,
And The Regretful Loss Of His Life,
That His Memory Has Given The Citizens Of This Country
The Strength To Overcome Those Indignities

Well it is hard to say! On the outside he had the appearance of a peace maker! I have read several books on him. Several people that were close to him stated that he himself was by nature a very racist man. But he fought it very hard, because he did not like the way he felt about that! Now I am no expert on MLK, but it seems to me that he was a good man, and meant well for all. I think it terrible however that African Americans have made it into a Holiday. I am no racist by any means, I have a African American Girl Friend. I am just saying they took something beautiful and turned it into a day off. Just does not make any sense, at least to me. This is my opinion!

Personally I don't think most people understand what MLK's crusade was all about. Sure, he wanted equal rights by peaceful demonstration but, if he were alive today I'm positive he would find it disturbing to see his efforts gone by the wayside by so many.

I think his message was intended to strike a nerve and encourage those that felt they were defeated to stand up and deliver, continue to move forward and once you got to the top of the mountain, keep going!

Today his message has dwindled and is used by those living the dream but not actually deserving of it. Leaders of the NAACP, Reverend Jackson and Harry Belefonte are guilty of invoking Mr. Kings name but do nothing to lift the lives of those he was trying to reach.

I believe the strength of MLK is in people like Bill Cosby, someone who will stand up and deliver, someone who will tell it like it is and not bash the government, blame whites, blame slavery or use any handy excuse as a reason for not succeeding.

M.L. King drove down property values all over this country with his little marches...

I'm glad though King made an impression on some...

He was one of if not the most eloquent speakers of the 20th Century.

He was a noble man that fought for a noble cause with full knowledge that it would probably lead to his death.

He fought intolerance with acceptance. He fought terror with faith. He fought injustice with justice. He fought violence with peace. He fought hatred with love.

He lead his followers in peace when violence was all around him on both sides of the Civil Rights struggle.

I suspect that of all leaders in America's history, he is Jesus Christ's favorite.
