Instead of spending all that time, money and the lives of our kids in Iraq
We spent our time and money on our borders and ports

The Iraq war will cost working class tax payers $2 trillion over ten years. These are the words of Britain's top military commander in Iraq. Richard Dannatt. "British troops should get ourselves out sometime soon because our mere presents (in Iraq) does exacerbate violence and that time is against us in Iraq." He goes on to say "whatever consent we may have had in the first place from the Iraqi people has largely turned into intolerance."
The ports in the USA are still owned by foreigners companies not Americans companies, they are no safer now then before Sept 11th. The new port security system will not detect a Nuke bomb in a container. We need more troops on the border and more troops in the ports. Just yesterday the FAA banned all fixed wing aircraft in New York that is not in contact with the ground, yesterday.
It took another crash in NY to get the Feds to pass this ban.
There are now 2758 brave Americans dead in Iraq, we could use 10 times that in the USA at our ports and borders. We could also use the over 30,000 wounded to protect the USA.
BTW, Only a real Idiot would think a terrorist would face our service men fighting in Iraq, they do the dirty work behind our back, just like in Nam. It is stupid to say "we are fighting terrorist there to avoid fighting them here", that is just not true. This proves the people who say that know nothing of war. Since Bush and Cheney are both draft dodgers, they know nothing of war.

No. We have about 8,000 miles of borders in the US (not counting Alaska or Hawaii) so how much time and money to you want to spend per mile?

What ports do you want to include? The dozens of major shipping ports, or the other 2-3000.

Fighting terror is a worldwide problem and we want to fight it where they live.

Safer

What a joke. There are approximately 1000 people in America with a private secure compound. Everyone else lives in little wooden boxes.

There is no security for you or anyone else.

No. The terrorists trained in Iraq. Iraq financed the terrorists. They are already here, and we need to weed them out. Securing the borders is important, but not as important as hurting the terrorist organization so that they can not attack again.
