Ok.... We have no hot water. Today we're going to replace the elemnts to see if that will help! But, when we removed the old elements, the tank was full of white crap! Guessing from our hard water! But is there anything we can do to our tank to help w/ the hard water? Any suggestions please!!

There is a drain valve at the bottom that you can attach a standard water hose to. Drain the water heater about once every six months and refill. Make sure to shut the power off when you do this or else the elements will burn up and you will need to replace them again.

Culligan is a company that specializes in water filtration, or go to Home Depot or Lowe's and get a filtration system and install and maintain it.

SOFTENER IN FRONT OF WATER HEATER TANK, & FILTER IN FRONT OF THAT!
CALCIFIED ELEMENTS MUST HEAT ALL THAT CRAP B-4 IT CAN HEAT THE WATER - THEREFORE, LONG RECOVERY TIME!
