It could be a number of things, but to me it sounds like it could possibly be premature labor. Labor can mask itself as lower back pain (back labor) very common. The cramping could be contractions. Normally at this stage in your pregnancy you would be experiencing Braxton Hicks contractions, but please be aware that this type of contractions (false labor) should NEVER hurt, they are simply a little bit uncomfortable but no pain. If you are having pain associated with these "cramps' or more then 5 Braxton Hicks contractions in 1 hour you need to either get in to see your doctor immediately or call your Labor and Delivery at your local hospital, explain your symptoms to them and they may have you come in.
At 37 weeks it is possible that it is labor pains, so please call the doctor or the hospital
Good luck

There is such a thing called "back labor" but it hurts really bad, if you can tolerate it then its probably because the baby is pressing against it. Try some excerise. Put your back flat on the wall(standing up of course) slowly go down slightly bending your knees and count just for a few seconds..or try getting on all fours and arching your back like a cat and flat again. Or hold on to something and softly kick back and forth bringing your knees up when you kick forward...ur actually swinging your legs but very slowly.
if all fails go to the doctor

Um, you're going into labor. My daughter went through that for about a week until she couldn't stand it anymore and we took her to the hospital. Funny though she was only dialated just under 3 cm. But they kept her and later that night she brought into the world the most beautiful little girl. Good luck and congratulations.

This is what you call Braxton hicks contractions. Some women get them throughout their pregnancy. My moddo when I was pregnant was When in doubt, go & check it out. It can't hurt to go and check it out or you can phone a gorvernment health link line. If you feel worried than check it out. Sometimes it's just nerves but womens intuition will take you a long way. Good luck with your new bundle of joy and hope you find an answer.

Call your doctor. If you dont have a doctor you need to see one. Go to a local walk in clinic r contact a local hospital and find out if they offer "free care" to people who qualify (cant afford it). Many large hospitals give free care (meds included) out to patients that register with the state for free care. It isnt insurance. Or you may qualify for state assistance since you are pregnant (state health insurance/ welfare).
See a doctor asap.

Could be the beginnings of labor. First, I'd time the pains -- how often are they, how long do they last, etc. Then I'd call your doctor and talk with them.

The best thing would be to call your doctor. That is the only way you will stop worrying. Call the doc and tell them what you are feeling.
