i totally agree with you, i live in SC and these people are morons! my husband witnessed an accident a couple of weeks ago where this woman was driving and on her cell phone, she went through a red light and mouthed "sorry" to my husband, she then got hit by a mercedes! What is wrong with these people! and also think it is so rude when people go to the grocery store, a bank and kind of business and are trying to make a business transaction but stay on there cell phones the WHOLE time, isn't a real person more important then your stupid phone call?

I live in LA - and every person is on their stinking cellphone on the freeway. Seriously, our freeways were bad enough before everyone got on their phones. It's almost every day when I have to watch out for reckless drivers who almost hit me, and invariably they are on their cell phone. I admit, I'm a typical LA driver and do talk on my cell phone, but I like to think I'm more responsible than other drivers I see. It's bad. I was in a car accicent a few years back and the guy who hit me was on his cell phone!
As for "fading" into another lane without realizing it, here in LA, people do it on purpose. They don't realize that their cars are equipped with turn signals. I swear I think I'm one of the last people in LA who uses their turn signals. LA drivers are just notoriously bad, and the cell phone problem just makes it that much worse!

There is a study that being on the cell phone is just as dangerous as drunk driving. I'll love it when these psycho women from MADD get the same punishment for talking on the phone that they hand out to drunk drivers. They made the bed, now let them lie in it!
DUI is the only crime where what you MIGHT do is punished more severely than what someone else actually does. Where's the logic in that?

Hey, it isn't just in Florida. I see the same kind of behavior here in Ohio too. These are people who can't walk and chew gum at the same time. Cell phone use should be banned on the roads and many states have done just that.

in south africa its been banned if you are caught doing it you get a huge fine and in some cases u get a court appearance. its a campaign they started a few years ago to prevent road accidents but the funny thing is wen i recently went back just to visit my parents i would sit in the car and count how many drivers i saw using there phones while driving one day i counted 20 and we were just going to the shops that is ten minutes away and it was in peak hour traffic. i think people are alot more selfish than they used to be they dont care about anyone else anymore just themselves.

People sometimes try to defend using a cell phone while driving.
One thing that I KNOW - there is no way that using a cell phone while driving will make anyone a BETTER driver & it's pretty likely it makes people significantly worse drivers. So why not pull over.

I like in OK and it's bad here as well. Oklahoma has a bad problem of people driving in the fast lane and driving extremely slow......especially ones that are on their cell phones. It pisses me OFFFFFFF!

Definately true, people drive so bad when on cellphones, even up to the extent of causing accidents.

Most people are bad drivers and won't admit it. I drive professionally, and I have seen all of these behavior with AND without cell phones. Cell phones aren't the problem, people are the problem.
