Do you have any houseplants around? Many times if houseplants are overwatered fungus gnats or shore flies will result. Shore flies look a lot like fruit flies. If you do have houseplants and you water them a lot--stop it.

Have you noticed them in the area of your kitchen and bathroom sinks ? I have seen some kind of little fly (several years ago) that seems to appear out of sink drain areas. If you seem to find them around your kitchen and bathroom sinks, perhaps flush all the drains well with drain cleaner. Good luck.

Burn some tree gum and spread its fumes allover or burn some neem leaves the same way spread its fumes in the whole house.

check your trash can, wash with purex and dry well, keep a trash liner in it at all times. Wash your counter top down with the purex also
