I'm using two top of the range desktops running XP home edition. One has a BT Voyager 2110 wireless router connected to it and the other has a Belkin USB wireless adapter connected which works perfectly. Good signal strength, good transfer rate...All good!
But the wireless network wizard will not set up a LAN for me. Just tells me that Windows can't do it, and to refer to Windows knowledge base. I've tried this but got nowhere. How do I set it up manually?

IMHO best not to use Windows Network setup. Use the Belkin one and pick fixed IP addresses rather than DHCP. Try something like 192.168.x.y - where x & y are numbers between 1 to 254. Keep x the same on all PCs and vary y by 1 for each PC you add. The subnet mask will then be 255.255.255.0

If you need deeper explanations, please feel free to contact me directly. Have fun.

Did you remember to type in the key number on your router?

I had nothing but trouble setting up internet etc using the BT voyager 2500, they sent me a replacement, again no good, then a new BT home hub that worked fine for a few weeks until it went potty, BT sent me a replacement and so far things are ok.
