Its a conspiracy by the make-up industry.
Women have been systematically brain washed in to believing that to be beautiful and attractive to men, they must buy loads of their chemical laced make-up, and smear it all over their face.
These chemicals react with the skin over time, leading to premature aging of the skin, which then opens the door for the sale of even more chemical laced make-up sales.
The amazing part of this is 2 fold.
1) Supposedly, the best makeup job, (which most men would be surprised to discover just how much make-up goes in to this), is to end up looking like she is not wearing any make-up at all. Imagine that. Putting on layer after layer of make-up to make yourself look like you are not wearing any.
2) Women do not appear to be aware that most men actually prefer that women wear very little make-up, that we find largely painted faces to be a turn off, and we really have very little understanding, (nor do we want to understand), all of the steps and crap that goes in to painting their faces. We simply know that they will spend a substantial amount of time in the bathroom, "getting ready" to go out in public.
Weird, huh?

I wouldn't say that wearing make up makes me more beautiful. Makeup is mostly for covering skin imperfections, and enhancing your best features. For example: I naturally have a reddish tint to my skin, so I wear foundation so that it is less noticeable. I also have very full lips so I wear a nice lipstick to set off my lips. Many women try to over do it with makeup. The trick to a good makeup application is for it not to be too noticeable. Some people do not believe in makeup, but this is my motto: "Even an old barn needs a new coat of paint from time to time". Oh and by the way it takes me less than 10 minutes to do my makeup.

Make-up isn't supposed to make you look better. It's more like an accent or an accessory.
Tons of makeup only hides the natural beauty. And in the long run it's the exact thing that enhances all those fine lines ladies are trying to hide.
If you think of applying make-up like coloring a fine painting you'll never go wrong.

It doesn't, you're right. I hardly wear it, only when I'm making a special effort, other than that I don't bother. Maybe once a week. Don't worry about it. Maybe these girls are shallow. There's more to life then beauty and by wearing make up all you're doing is covering it up!

It accentuates bone structure and strengthens the features, thus making the face look more attractive. A lot of girls don't actually need make-up, they already have strong features - as you say you don't notice the difference, but I think it's more of a self-confidence thing.

It's fake beauty. I've seen lots of pretty girls who don't need make-up. It doesen't make you look better. They should go out how they are. If a guy won't go out with you cos you have spots or something then he is a moron.
There are too many shallow failures on this planet.

honestly, it doesn't make you look better. when i see girls with their makeup caked on, it just makes me sad. I hate it - especially the really clumped on mascara. here's the thing, i view makeup as a tool to cover up inperfections (like zits) and to enhance the natural beauty a girl has. less is better - and guys perfer it that way! i have a weakness for eyeshadow so i wear it daily, but i still don't cake it on...

Personally I only wear lip gloss, and every guy that I know said that they prefer the natural look.
They always worry when they see a girl wearing too much make-up - they don't know what they're going to wake up next to in the morning!!!
