I grew up in the 70's when players were skilled, fast, skinny, and naturally muscular. Now you got these huge plumped up artificial thanksgiving turkey looking guys swinging for the fences on every other pitch. A person would have to be super naive to believe that these players aren't widely abusing HGH. There are no accurate ways of testing for it. Professional bodybuilding gave up testing for it a long time ago. And baseball can do nothing about it either even when former players come out and say that a large proportion of their former teammates abused HGH. I wish there were two leagues. One natural and one that was all about steroids, HGH, and supplements. The game is going to hell. I am watching a bunch of guys with fat butts ruin the game. And the pitchers are guilty too.

I absolutely love baseball and I agree completely. Barry Bonds and Mark McGuire are tearing through the record books when there are players (now and former) who actually played fairly who deserve to be the homerun king.

Ahhhh, yes... the "Clean" days of the 70s, when cocaine and amphetamines were all you had to worry about.

How many players had personal trainers or professional weight training equipment in their own homes in the 70s?

I liked the skinny guys like Willie Stargell, and Terry Forester.

By the way, you should give the police a call and see if we can put your detective skills to work for some good! Heck, if you can tell who uses HGH just be looking at them... you have some super duper peepers on you.

Why is the game going to hell? Why should you care what any of these guys do to themselves?

Do you not listen to the Beatles because of the performance enhancers that Lennon and McCartney used?
Will you not watch "West Wing" because of Aaron Sorkin using "funny mushrooms?"
Is Edgar Allen Poe any less a literary genius due to his opium use?

So, if it is OK for other entertainers to use "performance enhancers" why should sports (as entertainment) be any different?

Oh, and how do you feel about other medical advancements?
Laser eye surgery? Tommy John surgery? Ligament replacement? Arthroscopic surgery? None of those exsisted in the precious 70s either. Are they bad things too?

You can't generalize like that. Not all baseball players are "plumped up artificial Thanksgiving turkey". A considerable amount of guys are skinny, fast, muscular and yes, skilled. Some of them are even naturally thick bodied. Whatever you say, I'm still a big fan of baseball.

What about players from the 70's coming out about the rampant amphetemine use during the 70's to enhance their performances? Do you think this HGH scandal is actually all that different?
