I had a weird dream a while back and I probably wouldn't have thought anything about it but I had the same dream 3 times in one night. My dream is thus: I hear a knock at the door and I go up to see who it is. Now my dog follows me up and is a large white German Shepherd. (funny thing is I don't have a dog in real life.) There is a man at the door with a package and my dog is growling at him. The door is locked so he can't get into the house. I take my dog downstairs to keep him from attacking the man and then turn to go up and get the package. As I turn to go up there is a totally different man on the stairs who lunges for me to try and kill me. I duck and he flips over my back grabbing my belt loops and pulling me down the stairs with him. At this point I wake up. Any ideas as to meaning?

So something completly ordinary happens (a knock at the door) that doesn't raise any flags. You think nothing of it. Dogs are loyal. It could be the advice of a close friend or a guardian angel. Since it is white, it is a good thing and looking out for you. I would be careful of dismissing advice or leaping without looking. Not everything is as harmless as it seems sometimes. That is why they are called accidents, not purposes...
But seriously, you think a situation is fine and normal, not unlike what you have done before. But when it changes, the harmless box can really hurt you.
So if the man at the door is not known by you, I would be careful of people I don't know making any kind of suggestion or offer. Or of anyone offering something unsolicited. Ask a trusted person their advice, and don't take it too lightly. If it ain't broke, don't fix it, so I wouldn't change what I do if it is working for me.
I have had dreams come true. It could be something small or something bad. You just won't know until it happens. That is the bad thing about hindsight being 20/20. And since you realize he is trying to kill you and you wake in the midst of the struggle, obviously you have what it takes to confront this if you are prepared. But in my opinion, why go through it if you can keep and eye out for it.
Hope that helps.

Consider what a man knocking on a door might mean to you. Is this oppurtunity? Is this a change?
Does the man look familiar to you? Like your father, brother, teacher, coach? Are you attracted to men? Are you attracted to this particular man?

Consider what recieving a package means to you.
A gift?
A threat? Danger?

The door is locked, so you have a device in place that protects you?

Consider what dogs mean to you. In this description it sounds like the dog represents protection, or maybe your own best judgements or conscous thought?
So after figuring out what the dog symbolizes, consider that you lock this thing away.

This different man, is he familiar? Does he have a package?

I suspect that you are expecting a man to influence you a way that will totally change your life. A part of you is hesitant and afraid of the change. You fear that the person that is influencing you will not be there for you as you enter into the new life.

Maybe someone is encouraging you to take a new career direction, go to college?

This is for entertainment and amusement only. I have no credentials in therapeutic dream interpretation, psychology nor any medical field.

There is someone or some situation in your life that is trying to connect with you on some level. Your belief system or something you have read or seen previously, provides you a protector in your dream in the form the the German Shepherd, to warn you of impending danger or more likely distrust. The German Shepherd represents your skepticism or doubt about the person or situation.

The fact that your dream has occurred several times, means that it is not something casual and you are struggling with some really important aspect of the person or situation. The change in the person means that you can see two side of the person or situation and one of them you fear will drag you down in someway. Perhaps financially or emotionally. Perhaps it has something to do with alcohol or drugs.

Many people believe dreams are just interpretations of what is occurring in a persons life that they haven't been able to resolve in their waking life not predictors of the future.

End

You cannot cheat an honest person and you can't see a car coming if your eyes are closed. Purity of heart and mind, usually keeps a person safe from foolishness.

No dream is too weird.

Dog = your support, protection
Man trying to kill you = your insecure conscience.
package for you = your desire

If you have not seen any movie, that may mean something about you being insecure about certain things. Perhaps in reality, you don't trust certain people. You projected a dog, that is to help you and guide you to things you don't know or you don't trust. That is a symbol of the support you are looking for. Having a man attacked you signify your insecure feeling. In other sense, your privacy has been invaded. Because you were in the house, and man came out of nowhere and at stairs trying to kill you. That is your subconscious mind talking about how you handle life. You basically are looking for support and you probably don't trust lots of people even there are desire that you are expecting

Dreams sometimes reveal what you are going through in your personal life. They reveal a struggle that is going on within you internally. A dog is faithful to its master and recognizes that you are about to face danger in your life. So it is asking you to avoid this situation.

I have no idea as to what you are going through in your personal life but from your dream I can only suggest that you take a hard look at some of the choices you are making in your present life situation before you make some hard decisions..They can impact your life forever.

If you believe in God, I would suggest that you pray for protection against any harm that could befall you. I have found that the Lord's Prayer is a good antidote for such dreams
