I would have to say "no". If it were possible to travel back in time, man-in general-would not be smart enough to use it properly. There are many paradoxes which come with the ability to travel in time. One of which is the "grandfather paradox".

If you travel back in time and kill your grandfather before he fathers your dad, then you will never be born, therefore, you will not go back and kill your grandfather, so he has a child, and you are born, to kill your grandfather... and so on.

On a scale of one to bad idea, time travel is about a 10.5

If a time machine was invented in the future, where are the travellers now? Wouldn't we see them when they came back? I can't believe they would be quiet; somebody always says or does the wrong thing.

If a time machine will ever be invented in the future, I'm sure that someone would have already gone back in time and prevented your parents from ever meeting each other.

The Mayan calendar leads to 2012.  there's a theory going around that because of the fact of Mayan religious ideals (The universe has been created and destroyed many circumstances) that the tip of the calendar shows thwe end of the present cycle, i.e., the tip of the international.  in basic terms a theory. form of like the single Christians had in 999A.D.: Jesus might return with the beginning up of the recent millenium. i could record a set of "end of the international" theories according to a variety of religions.
