websites where I can see people who are less fortunate?

Are there any places online where I can view/read about people who are less fortunate? By that I mean poor, handicapped, etc.

Why would you want to do that? Sounds morbid to me!

You really don't have to look too far to find people less fortunate than yourself. There are web sites like "St Jude's Children's Cancer Center" or The American Red Cross", that have web sites that you can go to and contribute to if you want to help.
Paralyzed American Vets has a web site too, and so does the VFW. I just got a letter today from our local electric company asking if I could help the elderly and low income in the area pay their utility bills. Call your local churches and get names of families who disparately need help, especially at this time of the year.
Your question makes us think that you don't really want to help the poor or handicapped, that all you want is to view their misfortune. If that is the case, then we can't help you. God be with you

Get in your car or hop on a bus and go to the area of your town where the area is poorer then your own.
Get out and walk around a bit and even talk to a few of these folks.
Then ask yourself what can I do to help not only the people around you but in other areas of the world also.
But if you can't take time out of your busy life, check out the sites that show those that suffered and are still suffering from hurricane Katrina. So far the money that has been collected to rebuild New Orleans has gone on the football field and down town while the major part of the population is still living in shelters.
