Generally speaking, I agree with ALL the answers that agree with Sir Richard Dannatt.

If the democracy of our nation allows others to hide their face behind a veil, then I reckon the same democracy allows an Army Officer to speak about his concern towards his fellow officers.

Since when it's a resigning offence to speak for the concern of one's fellow colleagues ???

What is the opinion of the Daily Mail bashers now? Should the Mail have published the recent interview they had with the head of the British Army, General Sir Richard Dannatt? Or should all this have been swept under the carpet, keeping us in the dark once again to appease their critics, who somehow do not like the truth to be published.

Sir Richard stated that ' the troops are making the security situation in Iraq worse and they should be withdrawn soon, because we are turning tolerance into intolerance.'

He also said that ' we are in a Muslim country and Muslims views of foreigners in their country are quite clear. '

Back to the Daily Mail Bashers, if the Daily Mail is not fit to wrap your fish and chips in, then why did a person of Sir Richards calibre choose the Mail to interview him?

what sir richard dannatt said is most probably correct but as a serving officer he should have made it in private and with the poeple who might take notice and do something about it. i want to see our men back and right now, its not our problem out there now and perhaps it never was

The worrying thing is that he has revealed the situation of our troops to the enemy.Any British soldier that had done such a thing in the second world war would have been taken out and shot.
