Leaving my ex husband. He was an alcoholic who basically abused me when he came home, and abandoned his children.

Well, I was very bookish, shy and unadventurous. I spontaneously applied for a job in China, got it, bit the bullet and accepted it - now I'm confident and have travelled to 9 countries since, seen and learned loads and have a much more adventurous outlook on life. That one decision changed me completely, and I am much happier for it.

I left my job at Tower Records to work where I am now.

With Tower going out of business, it was now a great decision

To have a blind date, whom I married, and am still very much in love with 38 years later. Without this happening, I would not have had my two daughters, or my three wonderful grandchildren.

To have my son. My story doesn't make you cry like ballandchane's but I agree, every second is precious. I wouldn't be without him and my prayers are with others who don't have the luxury I have. x
