Stanley Kowalski. He is called the protagonist because he is the main character... the story revolves around how Stanley responds to the other characters in the play.

There are several conflicts in the play but the primary one is the relationship that develops between Stanley and Blanche Dubois, a flighty Louisiana belle who expects her man to treat her a certain way.

I know I read this play in HS but I forgot.... His name in the story was Stanley that much I can remember.
