- Invading Iraq with falsified intelligence against the wishes of the UN.
- Violating international law and disregarding the Geneva Conventions in torturing and detaining prisoners in Abu Gahrab and Gitmo.
- Using a secret network of prisons in other countries to further detain and torture prisoners.
- Threatening to take military action against Iran.

The biggest threat to world peace is terrorism. The United States is doing good by keeping the terrorists off-balance preempting further attacks across the world.

I think that the USA has a recent history of being an instigator and for some reason feels they must push democracy on all other nations. The USA did not "invent" democracy.. you don't see any other democratic nations running around overthrowing dictators and trying to set up democracies and pushing their way on everyone else. The USA needs to mind it's own business, take care of their own issues (poverty, healthcare, illiteracy, ignorance & education) and then start worrying about everyone else. Right now, the USA is so divided that if you speak out against the gov't, you get labelled "anti-american" - when in fact, speaking out is the most american thing you can do.

We will never have world peace as long as the US continues push its outdated imperialistic values down everyone's throat. The US is the most powerful nation on Earth and certainly does not use its incredible power wisely. Instead of being the planet's peacekeeper, the US plays the role as its largest bully.

I don't think "world peace" is any better than "world war"!
Remember...How would "world peace" be ENFORCED? And by WHO?
As with EVERYTHING, humanity must maintain a balance.
But I DO think the USA is a contributer to imbalance....and that is saying a lot!
