I have this old lady at my work that keeps ratting me out to the boss about stupid things. I currently got into a car accident and i work 6 days a week and i go to school. I only have time to take my car and go to the hospital in the morning for like 2 hours. She tells the boss I always leave work early to do "personal" things and she would tell the boss I'm not doing work blah blah when everyone else is slacking off as well. This has been going on for like 5 months. I tried to ignore her, I tried to be her friend again but I just couldn't take it anymore. So I wrote her an email telling her I would appreciated if she just leaves me alone. And she shows the email to the boss and tells him she wants to quit because she's hurt. Now..my boss wants to fire me because of her. What should I do? I hate her so much..what is there to do

The facts are the facts. No matter what everyone else is doing, did YOU slack off? Did YOU leave early? Does the boss have legal ground to fire you? If so, it doesn't matter of someone dropped the dime on you or not, don't seek revenge, if you screwed up, deal with it, and move on, otherwise go to the labor board in your county/city.

Do your job, stop asking for special favors and slacking off when you should be working. Find some time to care for your personal issues outside of work or ask your boss for a leave of absence or a few vacation days ..then use them to correct your personal issues. You are creating your own problems at work. If you do what you should be doing then others will leave you alone.

Ask your boss to schedule a conference between you, her and either the HR or himself. At the conference, ask her why she does not like you. Get the air cleared. If she is doing this to you, she might be doing this to others, therefore, your workplace needs to investigate to see if she has legimate complaints. You need to u/s that this can backfire on you, but, you are young, you have a much better chance of finding another job. If you can't stand it anymore, start looking. NO MATTER WHAT EVERYONE ELSE IS DOING, WHETHER OR NOT THEY ARE SLACKING OFF DOES NOT EXCUSE YOUR SLACKING OFF.

Unless you were threatening in the letter than your boss doesn't have a right to fire you over not getting along with someone in the workplace. Also don't do anything damaging because it will get you fired and I am a strong believer in Karma. She's old and bitter so just be the bigger person and ignore her.

oh i would be so pissed. and it sounds like she manipulated your boss too. with that im gonna quit ****. listen sounds like she has been there longer than you. what u need to do is completely ignore her n try your best to show your boss your a good worker too. and dont slack off even if other ppl are. that will make her even madder to see your boss pleased with you not her. oh and lastly if it continues, find another job. your in school u know u are not going to be there forever anyway.dont stress too much.

with people like this you HAVE to play there game. if this may not be your nature, then ill give you some tips. first off apologize to her and gain her trust and stab her in the back. try to get other coworkers to complain against her and tell the boss what shes been doing. try to hide her stuff like penis staplers etc. when shes not looking. and when she walks around looking for them go to the boss and tell him that shes been telling people what to do without doing work her self.

Just say a prayer and forget about doing anything, because you might land yourself in deeper. Turn it over to Jesus. I've seen this kind of thing happen on the job a lot, when all was said and done the people involved got theirs. You don't have to do a thing. Good luck to you!!

Doesn't sound like there is much that you can do, without getting yourself in further trouble. I would suggest looking for another job elsewhere. You have rights, and it sounds like a hostile work environment, but unless you plan on wasting a great deal of time and money, well..... justice is only for the wealthy.

Talk to your boss and let him know your situation.

confront her and tell her to mind her own business.. she has no reason to be in your business.. Talk to your boss and be honest, tell him what you are going though and that you would like it if he could talk to her...
