If there was a rule like that where soon- to- be priests would get castrated, to be more focused on God? And if anyone who say No should not be priests at all? Also in this way, kids would not be molested.

Do you think they should have a rule like this?

Castration does not kill sexual urges. Castration was done at one time to create eunichs and male opera singers - not a very natural or nice thing to do. Castrating priests would be a punishment that would not be fitting as you are puishing very many to try to curb a few. I also don't think celibacy should be a way of life either.

Unfortunately, being castrated, whether it be priests, teachers, coaches, or legislators with pages, wouldn't really solve the problems of mental problems. Better to do careful screening, and address issues when they first come up, and not only after somebody blows the whistle.

I am in favor, as far as priests go, of doing like the Orthodox do, and that is that priests can be married, but married clergy are not eligible for promotions to bishop and up.

I think castrating priest is a bit harsh. I think the Pope should let priest marry.

God gave sex as a gift...the reason why the priests are doing is because they have been deprived of sex...sex is not bad it is how people abuse it, such as pre-marital sex, prostitution, rape, and etc...what is wrong with a priest being married...if God didn't want us to have sex he wouldn't have made it....u know

um I think that interfears with God's plan that we should worship the human form as it is. I thought castrating was unholy? I could be wrong? Interesting question though

I think they should get rid of the celibacy thing because it's unnatural to suppress sexual urges and/or get castrated.

No. That would be like advising female teachers, who molest young boys, to have their sexual organs removed or not be a teacher. That is an absurd solution to a problem that is not all that widespread.

Do you really think they still wouldn't want to molest children just because they are castrated?

I think they should be allowed to marry because procreation is a basic instinct that won't easily be overcome. I don't beleive that marriage to God (if there is one) is sufficient to overcome the instincts to mate even in humans. That's my answer...they should all be family folks just like you and I. PEACE!
