Why must couples hate each other, even after they've spent a lot of good times together? Is it really neccessary to be so bitter when one leaves the relationship?

Can they not just accept that it didn't work and move on with their lives?

Yes people really "fall out of love" with their partners, my wife did together 15yrs. Married 9. I'm in know way shape or form bitter, I wanted and tried to make our marriage work. I gave it to God and it's out of my hands now, she is and always will be my best friend. Base on all the great memories I have of us, it is what it is. Life goes on, just have to learn to sit back and enjoy the ride.

Dear wannaknow:
Most couple spend a lifetime together yes but they are not inlove with eachother! Their relationship is one of a comproise and most of they stood in that relationship because of the kids , because they feel guilty and they wanna do the right thing for everyone. So when they get a chance to part they are so happy that they moved on and at the same time they are angry that they put with their partner crap for so may years.
So the answer is this love is bitter, sweet and jealous and it doesnot matter the amount of time spent, love cannot be measured!
Couples fall outta love after a few years but learn to live with eachother becoz of committments, its not really love!

Yes, people fall out of love. It's hard not to hate each other. You've invested so much in a marriage and the other person has disappointed you. Now, you see your dream falling apart! Hopefully, if it must end, both can eventually move on.

It has a lot to do with shifting the whole blame on the other, and broken dreams and the feeling of failure...

It's not always "bitter", many times people simply mutually agree to separate.

Bitterness is there only if one of them feels they've been wronged.

Just what was the reason for the breakup and by whom?
