Seems like when I was a teenager & younger 20-something, I always knew what my style was. But it must be more difficult to dress for your 30's, because now that I'm nearing that age, I never know what to wear. Stuff is usually too teeny-bopper-y, like too tight and slutty looking or too conservative and mom-ish. What's to be done? I am a mom of two young boys, and I want to be modest, but I don't want to look like I'm a frumpy old schoolmarm! Although I'm not in as good of shape as I was in college, I'm still small--usually a size 4 or 6, so it's not like I can't wear tighter stuff, I just don't want to. Oh, and I'm also only 5'2", so that poses a problem sometimes, too! Any suggestions?

I'm 32 and look 22. But I have to be careful too, b/c I'll just look stupid if I dress too young. I am 5'1 and weigh 106. So Ifeel your pain about finding cool clothes in my size that aren't slutty. I would definately suggest shopping at boutiques, b/c their clothes are nicer and not always too expensive. That way you know you are stylish, and then you just buy what looks good. As long as your stomach doesn't show you're fine. I always choose, either show my arms, or show my legs, but NEVER both. Unless it's 110 degrees outside and everyone else is showing that much skin too.

I am 34 and a mom to three children. My only suggestion is to stick to a modern, clean lines look, and stay away from the trendy, junior (cheap) stuff.

For instance, try dark, mid-rise jeans with a slight bootleg flare, rather, then the sand blasted, super low-rise junior section jeans.

I love V-neck tops and t-shirts, because, the scoopnecks and polo shirts seem too stuffy to me. I also like light blazers and cardigans as opposed to hoodies and zippered sweatshirts.

Also, good leather handbag and some nice flats are great for on the go!

What's wrong with jeans and a nice sweater or khakis with a nice polo? If you have 2 children, you need good functional easy to care for clothes that are comfortable. Go to the mall and see what everyone else is wearing. Shorts, Polo's, slacks, jeans and blouses. Sweatshirts/sweatpants are good for cold weather and just hanging around the house.

If you work, take the lead from your co-workers and dress in a similar way.

It's not rocket science, it's about comfort in finding your own style.

Do a lot of research. There is NOT a fine line between teenager and the "mom jeans" look. There are a ton of styles out there that work great. pick up a glamor magazine and check out http://beauty.ivillage.com/
other than that, take a friend who will give you an honest opinion with you when you go shopping ;)

Oh, and I also recommend this book, it's soooo good!!

What do you feel comfortable wearing? Really that is what you need to find, not a particular fashion suggested by people that you don't even know. I wake up every morning, see how I feel that particular morning, and go with that. It also depends on what I need to do that day. I go from looking like I should be in a Swing band, to just an every day person. Depends...

You can't go wrong with a good pair of jeans (i like to splurge on 7's.. when they are on sale) and a nice/classic top. I am also a mom approaching 30 and I find that kinda outfit can take me anywhere - just have to switch up the shoes and accessories!

Take advice from the celebrity mothers. Like Sarah Jessica Parker for example, she is small like you and dresses totally cute! You should check out this website http://www.whatcelebswear.com
You can search by celebrity, designer, or article of clothing! It is really cool!

flirty tops like lingere looking camis look great under a blazer or denim jacket. it's great because it's that time of year and everyone looks great in it no matter their age. stick with high heels, no one can go wrong with that. wear jeans and flowy knee length skirts. you can always take simple tops and pants and wear bold jewelry and belts with it. that gives a very stylish edge. you'll look great, i understand how you don't want to look like a schoolmarm.
