Hi, I am an university student in Japan. I am researching about Gospel music for senior thesis. In Japan, gospel music has become popular but many Japanese who sing gospel music do not Christian and they sing it just for fun. Do you think it is good? or bad? Why? Please tell me your idea for the question/ topic. In your country, does the same thing happen?

Hmmm...good question! I'm an atheist, but I think some gospel music is beautiful, and have no problem listening to it or hearing non-Christians sing it. (Personally, I would not sing it only because I have a TERRIBLE singing voice...)
Good music is good music, regardless of the source or inspiration for it.
I live in the US, but have never heard of or seen non-Christians singing gospel music for fun.
(P.S. Your English is very good!)

That sounds like a question a follower of Allah would ask. Very narrow minded. Music is for everyone. I have known Unitarian churches to sing Xmas songs just because they are so fun, even if they do not believe in Jesus. When I was in China, I heard Chinese girls singing Xmas songs. Good music is catchy.

I think it is good, although, I think it is a little strange. The question is how can someone who doesn't believe in something, and who doesn't understand it, accurately represent it?

However, if someone is singing a song, even if they don't understand it themselves, it can still reach other people, and make a difference in those people's lives. In that way, I think the singing of Gospel music is good.

i'm comparable to you. i've got not got a faith, yet I do like Gospel because of the fact they have some actual azz singers. in recent times, the those that stay on the R&B charts are: T-discomfort, Ciarra, Akon, Rihanna, and that i do no longer think of they might sing properly well worth the $h!t!

Bad singers shouldn't sing gospel music. And I should not be forced to listen to it. Other than that, they can knock themselves out...

The japs mimic everything!

You ever heard a jap sing?

Blah, blah, blah, is what it sounds like.

The japs that can sing only sing the words, they have no idea what they are singing.
