I also love To Kill A Mockingbird. Other favorites would be The Count of Monte Cristo, Pride and Prejudice, Gone With The Wind, and Their Eyes Were Watching God.

You may try "The Cairo Trilogy" by Naguib Mahfouz, it's translated from Arabic by a team of four scholars, highly readable and you'd love most of all characters there. It's a long story but you can read part by part and enjoy the magnificent narrative with better understanding on Muslim people's culture.

I gotta say it's to Kill a Mockingbird.
It shows the view of a child, which is usually not heard or heeded and usually suppressed.

The Diary of Anne Frank. It was so sad and her writings were beautiful even in the horror she lived. 50 years after the fact I just fell in love with this little girl.
