been there, done that. i held on to my feelings for him (the ex) for 2.5 yrs after breaking up. i never had that closure. i'd tell u the story but it's ok..i'll spare u the tears. hehe

anyways, how did i heal? when u finally realize that he's not THE ONE. i've been so hurt by him so many times, before, during, and after the break up. i didn't have anybody to confide in too cuz most of our friends are his friends already before i even met them. so obviously, they'd be on his side. his bestfriend tho, who i used to treat as my older brother (he called me lil sis) was there for me through those times. we're actually together now. he waited for about 1.5 yrs to finally hear me say i love him too. he knew how much i loved the ex, but i told him, i owe it to myself to move on. anyways....

the point is...closure/healing just happens when u finally really realize that he's not the one for you, then you'll be like..hmm..why am i still holding on to him? i've told myself countless times in the past that i'm over him when in fact i wasn't. i would date other guys but by the end of the day, it was still him i think of.

hope this helps...and i hope u get your closure. i know how hurtful it is to not have it.

i'm happy w/ my man right now...better things compared to now awaits u in the future..

Did this person die? You should elaborate a little more on this. In a way if the love of your life died it is almost easier to deal with because it is final. On the other hand if the love of your life is out there, it almost is like being in limbo. Write a letter like you were going to mail it and write down everything you feel about the end of your relationship. If you can find this person and you have guilt about something, again write it down and mail it if it is possible and if you are feeling guilty about something, apologize! If nothing else happens you will be free then to start healing. Good luck

Are we talking about a death here? If so...why would you need closure? Have you done something that you now wished you had a chance to change or have addressed prior to this?

Guilt is a great reminder.
