i just want to know the quickest way,can someone go into a bank in rep of ireland and wire the money to my a/c and how long would it be untill i would recieve the money.

Money transfers take a few days (which is basically a huge scam - the banks sit on the money and earn interest). Usually, cash paid into an account is instantly available, which would work if they could nip over the border to pay it in, not so good if they're the other end of the country.

The money can be sent via Moneygram. This can be done at any Bank of Ireland and other outlets in Ireland. You can then collect the money from the post office. Apparently the money can be with you in 10Min's. Go to www.moneygram.com to find out more.

WesternUnion (www.western-union.com) is one way of transferring cash very quickly (a few minutes) - its possible for the recipient to pick up the cash from shops, post offices etc, but their commission is very high. Good in emergencies, I'd say.
The website lets you search for businesses that act as agents for this service.

Maybe you could split the transaction in two - a small amount by
WU, and a bigger amount via a slower international money movement between banks (which would have a lower commission.)

When I send $ from UK to Australia it takes 2.5 working days usually (but they don't guarranty it to be that fast).

ask the person living in Ireland to send your money via the banking system from one account to the other it will only take a few days and very secure, better then the post
