To me, our customers were like gold. I admit I would get pretty upset with them at times but I would do anything I could to solve a problem. The only one that sticks in my mind at the moment had to do with a payroll problem that cropped up after y2k. The payroll system was not funtioning properly. (We had contracted to run the customer's payroll program, which was a system purchased from another vendor.) I can not remember exactly what the problem was (if I recall correctly it had something to do with 401k contributions), but I did not get the problem solved until about 3:00 am in the morning the second day.

I could go on and on, but you would be bored to death with the details.

IS staff have these kinds of problems continuously and many mean working around the clock to solve, perhaps around several clocks.

Every year, when the prospectus is due at the printers the week I'm on holiday, and I have to re-schedule some days to come in and work on it.
